Instructions on self-purchased books by each department and research project funds

1.     Acquisition materials, such as books, periodicals, and non-book materials, should be recorded as assets. However, items without copyright, brochures with fewer than 50 pages, single issues of periodicals, or e-books intended for personal use are exempt from this requirement.

2.     The submission period for each academic year runs from August 1st to July 25th of the subsequent year. Books purchased with subsidies from the Ministry of Science and Technology are not subject to this deadline.

3.     Before purchasing new books, please consult the library's online catalog to avoid duplication. The library's acquisition policy limits duplicates to no more than three copies.

4.     Please complete the form detailing the funding source, book price, and storage location, and obtain the department supervisor's signature. Then, forward the application to the Library Acquisition and Cataloging Division.

5.     Once the materials are cataloged and shelved by the library, they become university property and cannot be removed or withdrawn at will.
